Today’s highlights:

  • Nurse Kim came to check on my mother.
  • I had a voice lesson with Mary via Zoom.
  • I went to the pharmacy at the grocery store to pick up some prescriptions for my father.
  • I went for a walk in the rain before dinner including a loop in South Hall.  I listened to Brahms’s violin concerto.

Today’s highlights:

  • I attended a virtual global town hall at work.  Our Chinese colleagues have been at home for 9 weeks.
  • Occupational therapist Jan came to assess my mother.
  • The temperature broke so it was pleasant outside.
  • I went for a walk at lunch on the trail from Paramore Park.  I listened to Brahms’s first piano concerto.
  • I went for a second walk before dinner around the neighborhood.  I call it the Randy-Mary Lee-Alma Lee-Donald-Cindi-Jack-Oliver-Becky Anne route.  I listened to Brahms’s second piano concerto.
  • I listened to a lecture on intonation from Blake Morgan of Voces8.
  • I did not go for a third walk because Brahms was out of piano concertos.

Today’s ice cream:  Ben & Jerry’s Gimme S’more

Today’s beer:  Sweet Josie from Lonerider Brewing Company in Raleigh and Warp One Enhaze from Aviator Brewing Company in Fuquay-Varina

Today’s pet peeve:  I am annoyed that I cannot pick up litter from my walking routes.

Sunday, March 29

OK.  I am now three weeks into a four-day visit to NC.  Pesky coronavirus.  No, I am not sick (or at least not symptomatic) and neither is anyone I know.  That is the good news.  The less good news is that I have no idea when I will be able to return home to VT.

Today’s highlights:

  • My mother walked the living room-kitchen circuit twice with her walker.
  • Taylor and Jada came over and held up signs for my mother through the dining room window.  It was Jada’s birthday.
  • Andy paid my bills and watered my plants at home while I swept my mother’s garage.
  • I went for a walk today along Firetower Road.  When I was growing up, the firetower was out in the country.  Now it is in town.  #sprawl  I listened to orchestral versions of Hungarian Rhapsodies by Brahms.  It was very hot and very windy.  The weather, I mean.

Today’s beer:  Hop Drop ‘N Roll from NoDa Brewing Company in Charlotte

Mat cleaner
I walked by a carwash with a floor mat cleaner.  I have never heard of such a thing.
Dead deer
This is a photo of a dead deer.  No, I don’t see it either.  Trust me.
