• Andy and I went for a morning walk in downtown Greenville.  (I can’t bring myself to call it Uptown.)
• I went to Dollar Tree and Food Lion for my father.
• I went to Harris-Teeter for my mother.
• Andy and I went for a walk before dinner.

Today’s beer:  Milk Stout from The Duck-Rabbit Craft Brewery in Farmville and Humidity Pale Ale from Fullsteam Brewery in Durham.

Today’s pet peeve:  I was shorted two bagels at the bagel shop, I was overcharged by one item at Dollar Tree, the Fluffy Biscuits by Duck-Rabbit I bought were skunky and the High Roller from Big Boss was an explosive foam bomb.  But other than that, I’ve got nothing.

Andy and I went on a special birthday excursion, including:

• A self-guided walking tour of New Bern, including Tryon Palace, revolutionary war sites, historic homes, historic churches, etc.
• A nature walk in the maritime forest at Fort Macon State Park.
• A ramble on the beach.
• An exploration of the old fort.
• A drive down the Bogue Banks to Emerald Isle.
• A stop by my family’s ancestral church at Hadnot’s Creek.

• I stopped by Harris-Teeter to pick up a few things.
• We helped my mother with her puzzle.

• We went to the river house at Bath via Chocowinity.
• We went for a long hike at Goose Creek State Park.  Perhaps 8 miles?
• On our way back to Greenville, w took the ferry across the Pamlico River from Bayview to Aurora.
• We had a Zoom beer hour with Jay.

• Andy and I went for a virtual 10-miler run on the Green Mill Run Greenway and the South Tar River Greenway.  (Actually 11.5 miles.)  It was not as hot as last weekend but was sunnier and more humid.

• I had the day off from work as a holiday and Andy took a vacation day.
• We went to the river house at Bath.
  • We turned on the water and hot water.
  • We stripped all the beds, washed/dried sheets and re-made the beds.
  • We vacuumed out the sofa bed.
  • We rambled around town.
  • We had chips and salsa on the deck.  Hot.  (The salsa.)
  • We picked up limbs and sticks.
  • We found the gas can in the boat.
  • We mowed the grass.
  • We removed the pine straw from the roof around the chimney and the drip protector.
  • We removed pine straw from the badminton court.
  • We removed pine straw from the outdoor shower.
  • We set up the bench swing.
  • We removed plants that were growing up through the wooden walkway.
  • We vacuumed the living room and swept the hall.
  • We turned off the water and hot water.
• We also paid a visit to Belhaven and walked around River Forest Manor & Marina.
• PTA Amy came over to work with my mother.  (I missed that.)
• OT Kim came over to work with my mother. (I missed that.)
