Today’s highlights:

• Andy and I went to Rocky Mount to run on the Tar River Trail.
• I stopped by Harris-Teeter to pick up a few things.
• We helped my mother with her puzzle.
• I made chocolate chip pan cookies for Andy’s birthday.  (A little salty? Maybe they will taste better tomorrow?)

• Andy and I slept in.
• We went to the river house at Bath via Chocowinity.
• We went for a long hike at Goose Creek State Park.  Perhaps 8 miles?
• On our way back to Greenville, w took the ferry across the Pamlico River from Bayview to Aurora.
• We had a Zoom beer hour with Jay.

Today’s beer:  The Way Life Gose from Pitt Street Brewing Company in Greenville, Bed of Nails from Hi-Wire Brewing  in Asheville and Sip of Sunshine from Lawson’s Finest Liquids in Waitsfield, VT (brewed in Stratford, CT).

Today’s pet peeve:  Neglecting to take water on a multi-hour hike.

Today’s highlights:

• Andy and I went for a virtual 10-miler run on the Green Mill Run Greenway and the South Tar River Greenway.  (Actually 11.5 miles.)  It was not as hot as last weekend but was sunnier and more humid.
• I prepared Three Songs for Maarten:

  • Jesus and Tomatoes by Kate Campbell
  • Canned Goods by Greg Brown
• I went to Food Lion for my father.
• I went to Harris-Teeter for my mother.

Today’s pet peeve:  Families deciding to hold their family reunions in Harris-Teeter when I am trying to shop during a pandemic.

Today’s highlights:

• I had the day off from work as a holiday and Andy took a vacation day.
• We went to the river house at Bath.
  • We turned on the water and hot water.
  • We stripped all the beds, washed/dried sheets and re-made the beds.
  • We vacuumed out the sofa bed.
  • We rambled around town.
  • We had chips and salsa on the deck.  Hot.  (The salsa.)
  • We picked up limbs and sticks.
  • We found the gas can in the boat.
  • We mowed the grass.
  • We removed the pine straw from the roof around the chimney and the drip protector.
  • We removed pine straw from the badminton court.
  • We removed pine straw from the outdoor shower.
  • We set up the bench swing.
  • We removed plants that were growing up through the wooden walkway.
  • We vacuumed the living room and swept the hall.
  • We turned off the water and hot water.
• We also paid a visit to Belhaven and walked around River Forest Manor & Marina.
• PTA Amy came over to work with my mother.  (I missed that.)
• OT Kim came over to work with my mother. (I missed that.)

• My mother fell at bedtime and gashed her head.  The EMS took her to the emergency room but we were not allowed to go.
