Today’s highlights:

  • Andy and I visited several driving-tour Civil War stops around Bentonville.
  • We bailed out of a hike at Howell Woods due to a plague of mosquitoes.
  • We visited the Selma Union Depot (1924) and Mitchener Station (1855).
  • He hiked on the Clayton Riverwalk (by the Neuse) and Sam’s Branch Greenway.
  • We had a Zoom beer hour with Jay.

Today’s beer:  Paycheck from Fullsteam Brewery in Durham and Pumpkin Pie Porter from Deep River Brewing Company in Clayton

Today’s pet peeve:  The mosquitoes at Howell Woods were as big as granddaddy longlegs.

Today’s moment of gratitude:  At least we had our bug hats.
