Andy and I went on a special birthday excursion, including:
- A self-guided walking tour of New Bern, including Tryon Palace, revolutionary war sites, historic homes, historic churches, etc.
- A nature walk in the maritime forest at Fort Macon State Park.
- A ramble on the beach.
- An exploration of the old fort.
- A drive down the Bogue Banks to Emerald Isle.
- A stop by my family’s ancestral church at Hadnot’s Creek.
Today’s ice cream: Ben & Jerry’s Phish Food
Today’s beer: Hi-Wire Lager from Hi-Wire Brewing in Asheville and Rainbow Dust from Sycamore Brewing in Charlotte.
Today’s pet peeve: People who hold large funerals during an infectious disease pandemic. They probably threw their dental picks on the ground after the funeral.
