Today’s highlights:

  • I prepared a very special Holy Saturday version of Three Songs for Maarten.
  • Nurse Tracy came by to check no my mother.  (We usually do not have any services on Saturday.)
  • My new beard trimmer arrived.  I am supposed to charge it overnight before first use.
  • My sister started the new Cinque Terre puzzle with a goal of beating Andy to completion.  She recognizes that she has an advantage since Andy is still working.
  • I went for a long walk including trails at Alice F Keene Park and at Wintergreen Primary School plus a visit to the Eastern Carolina Village & Farm Museum:
    • Brahms:  Piano Quintet in F minor, Op 34 (remainder)
    • Brahms:  String Quintet No 1 in F, Op 88
    • Brahms:  String Quintet No 2 in G, Op 111
    • Brahms:  Clarinet Quintet in B minor, Op 115
    • Brahms:  String Sextet No 1 in B flat, Op 18
  • I received four handmade washable face masks in the mail.  Two from a woman in Leicester and two from a woman in Durham.  I, of course, threw them immediately into the washing machine.

Today’s ice cream:  Ben & Jerry’s Phish Food

Today’s beer: Pilot Mountain Pale Ale and Jade IPA from Foothills Brewing in Winston-Salem.

Today’s pet peeve:  I got sunburned on my walk.

Word of the day:  Pandiculation

Another new word:  Saponification
