Today’s highlights:

  • OT Jan came to see my mother.
  • Nurse Kim came to see my mother.
  • The handheld transfer aid that I had ordered for my mother arrived.  This will help her stand up from her low couch.
  • My team from work had a lunch show-and-tell meeting today.  I demonstrated how to add 60% cacao Ghirardelli chocolate chips to nonfat plain Greek yogurt.
  • I went for a long walk after work including a visit to my childhood home in Lynndale. I listened to:
    • Brahms: Sonata for Violin & Piano No 2 in A, Op 100
    • Brahms: Sonata for Violin & Piano No 3 in D Minor, Op 108
    • Brahms:  Sonatensatz FAE Sonate
    • Brahms: Sonata for Cello & Piano No 1 in E Minor, Op 38
    • Brahms: Sonata for Cello & Piano No 2 in F, Op 99
  • My father’s phone died but he got it working again.  (He read the directions.)

Today’s ice cream:  Ben & Jerry’s Phish Food

Today’s beer:  Code of Conduct Hazy IPA from Pitt Street Brewing Company in Greenville.

Today’s pet peeve:  Last night, my mother’s washing machine walked across the laundry room and blocked the door from opening.

Word of the day:  Pleonasm.

Overheard:

Me: Is the chicken salad acceptable?

Mother:  No.  But it’s pretty good.
